Super quick post just to get one in for the day. I read a lot today. In fact, I ended up finishing the section on Mitya. I couldn't put the book down the whole time. I thought the second half of Notes From Underground was enthralling, but this made that seem like a little golden book, which I don't mean in a deragtory sense in the slightest because little golden books are the shit although there is a massive difference between them and The Brothers Karamzov. It's an absolute perfect train wreck that you can't look away from. To try to give an example, if you've ever seen the show Peep Show, a ton of the jokes and situations the characters find themselves in are so cringe-inducing that you can barely bring yourself to watch. However, you end up not only finishing it, but enjoying it, because that feeling of cringe serves as the entire point of the show — you watch it to feel that feeling. That's the feeling the entire section gives you; I suppose this genre of humor is not exclusive to the British. Perhaps it's a European thing. But out of the cringe, Dostoyevsky can conjures such poignant moments. In a moment of reflection, Dmitry ducks away from the debauchery surrounding him and considers putting an early end to his journey. There's been hints of this throughout, and it now all comes to a head just as the chapter does. This book has been a true delight to read.
In the real world, I had to go to work today. Before work, I ended up starting a rewatch of the Frieren anime while I ate breakfast. I've been watching hella clips on YouTube, and I've decided to just get the real thing. That truly is my favorite ever anime/manga series. I then took a shower and got to work early so I could get something to eat. I ate a beef bowl and some sushi from a nearby Japanese grocery store; the sushi was good, but the beef bowl could have been better. When I got home, I partook in a little bit of my weed pen. I do it a couple times every couple months. I like to do it before going for a walk around the block. It makes me feel like those memes with the wizards.

Anyway, I hit it then took my dog out for a walk. The cool air felt refreshing. Came home, ended up watching about 20 minutes of Clueless on YouTube. They absolutely nailed the writing in that movie; it really doesn't say RSVP on the statue of liberty. Watched episode 2 of Frieren. Then finally read my book for about 2 hours. It felt like the words were about to come off the page, and I could picture the events perfectly in my mind. I've never read under the influence before, but I might start doing it every couple months.
